…time was had by all. A busy weekend, favored by super weather, The Pirate Jamboree exhibits, encampments by re-enactment groups, the sea battle in our harbor that mimed the demise of Blackbeard and the march past The Cove to Springer’s Point to memorialize the infamous pirate- all well done. The scholarly talks by history buffs lent a sense of reality to it all.
And Hallowe’en- of course. Costumed (such clever outfits) Trick or Treaters, young and older alike, swarmed the Lighthouse Loop. At well northward of 200 they demolished the Cove’s popcorn supply and made a large dent in the backup lollipops.
The extra hour of sleep thanks to transitioning to EST was welcome. Ocracoke enjoyed and survived-now on to Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, let’s go to the beach!
