Take a break from the 9-to-5 grind when you visit Ocracoke Island. Stepping on our pristine beaches is like going back to a simpler time, where neighbors are friends and strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet.
You’ll never be bored on Ocracoke Island. If getting out on the water is what you’re looking for, there is no shortage of activities. From kayaking to surfing, jet skiing to parasailing, there is something here to please everyone. Or just pick a spot on our 16 miles of natural, unspoiled beaches and enjoy the sunshine.
When you’re done down on the beach, come inland and bike or walk around the village of Ocracoke. You won’t find any chain stores here! Every business and restaurant is as unique and full of personality as its owner. The best kept secrets on our island aren’t found in a downtown strip mall, but instead tucked away on village streets.
For a bit of history, take a tour of the one of the oldest active lighthouses in the United States. As the final resting place of Blackbeard the pirate, we also boast a pirate museum and a wealth of naval history around every corner. Learn about the lives of the previous inhabitants within the 250 historic buildings that are still standing.
Whatever you adventure, Ocracoke Island and The Cove Bed & Breakfast welcome you to our little slice of paradise!
